Eligibility criteria


Eligibility for Green Star certification differs depending on the type of rating

Design & As Built

Green Star NZ – Design & As Built is intended to rate new buildings and major refurbishments. The majority of building types are eligible to be rated including mixed use developments as long as they comply with all eligibility criteria


Design & As-Built v1.0

Versions 1.1 of Green Star NZ - Design & As Built is now live. All Green Star projects registered after 28th October 2022 will need to use the new v1.1 criteria

Interiors

Green Star NZ – Interiors is intended to rate new and refurbished fitouts. Fitouts constructed in the majority of building types are eligible to be rated, including mixed use developments. 

Interiors v1.0

Communities

Green Star - Communities assesses the planning, design and construction of large-scale development projects including precincts, neighbourhoods and entire communities. Communities projects must meet space use, spatial differentiation, conditional requirement, and timing criteria to be eligible.
